The Cycling Classic is set on an extremely
demanding 18-mile loop, each
loop consisting of 1600-feet of climbing. Pro 1-2 men will complete five
loops and the women Pro 1-2-3 will complete three.
. On each lap racers will pass through The Cycling Classic feedzone featuring
Red
Bull Energy Drink to increase endurance and improve performance.
Before beginning the loops, each field will
complete a predetermined number of short, fast, and technical
circuits in the heart of Historic Hyde Park, five
circuits for the men and five for the women. Here are
the vitals:
| Men Pro1-2 |
95-miles |
8000-feet of climbing |
| Women Pro 1-2-3 |
53-miles |
4800-feet of climbing |
Once out on course, racers will enjoy
a rolling race enclosure giving them full usage of the roadways
within the race envelope. This is of critical
importance due to the high-speed descents and narrows roads racers
will be experiencing at times. USA Cycling Chief Referees
will direct both rolling enclosures for both
fields.
Neutral Technical Support is being provided for both the
men’s and women’s fields.
Mountain Jersey Competition is in effect for both fields.
Both fields will have one Mountain Jersey
Competition Sprint on EACH AND EVERY
LAP. Points will be awarded to the top 5 racers across
the line as follows:
| 1st |
10 points |
| 2nd |
8 points |
| 3rd |
